Facelifted Version of GM’s premium SUV, Trailblazer, spotted testing in Gujarat by GaadiWaadi.com is set to be launched in early 2017.
General Motors recently launched the 2017 facelifted Trailblazer at the Bangkok Motor Show after months of testing at locations around the globe. We can now confirm that the facelifted version will be launched in India in the first half of 2017 after GaadiWaadi.com spotted the SUV being tested close to Halol, Gujarat.
The facelifted version of the premium SUV sports a bolder and angular look than the existing rounded look. The front is redesigned to have sexier and bolder headlamps along with prominent fog lamps. Boring front grille in the present version is done with and a new distinctive horizontally shaped chrome plated grille along with the new alloy wheels give the Trailblazer an alluring look. The rear of the SUV appears largely similar to the current model however the tail-lamps have been restyled. A larger instrument panel in the dashboard is all that the Indian market can expect in terms of interiors. We learn that GM will not be launching the uplifted engine here in India!
With General Motors finding it hard to place an authoritative foot in the market here in India are slotted to launch five models in the span of a year. The Trailblazer SUV was launched in October 2015 to replace the company’s premium SUV, Captiva. Although 70 odd units were sold in October and November, the sales have dipped to paltry figures for the Trailblazer in the past few months. Stiff competition in this segment with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Honda CRV may force GM to introduce the facelifted Trailblazer as soon as possible.
