The Fiat Linea 125S has been launched in the country at INR 7.82 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
The Linea 125S is the most powerful variant of the Italian sedan and was unveiled at the Auto Expo held in Delhi earlier this year.
The new sedan is powered by the same 1.4-litre T-Jet turbocharged petrol engine that is present in the regular Linea. However, in this car, it produces 11 bhp more, bringing the total power output to 125 PS and 210 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and power is sent to the front wheels. The car rides on 16-inch alloy wheels.
The Fiat Linea 125S comes equipped with a 5-inch touch-screen infotainment system with navigation and a rear-view camera. Features carried over from the regular car include rear sun curtain, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, ambient lighting and cruise control. The safety features include dual stage airbags and all four disc brakes. All the features mentioned are standard. Along with these, the car shown at the Auto Expo came with a black grille, black alloy wheels, black roof, black ORVMS and chrome exhaust tips.
The Italian sedan competes with powerful petrol variants of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and the Volkswagen Vento. While the City and the Verna use naturally aspirated engines, the Vento uses a turbocharged engine paired to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
The Linea is also powered by a 1.3-litre diesel engine. The range starts at INR 6.46 lakhs and goes up to INR 10.63 lakhs. All prices are in ex-showroom, New Delhi.
