Skoda has confirmed that the all-new Kodiaq will make its debut in Berlin, Germany on 1st September. Czech publication AutoForum has released renderings based on the teaser images of the Skoda Kodiaq.
Skoda recently confirmed that their latest SUV the Kodiaq will be launched in India. Now, the Czech carmaker has confirmed that the Skoda Kodiaq will be unveiled on 1st September in Berlin, Germany. The teaser images of the India-bound SUV from Skoda was released previously, now with the unveil in just a few weeks a Czech publication has released renderings of what the Skoda Kodiaq might look like in full flesh based on the earlier teaser images.
The Kodiaq is among the first D-Segment crossover/SUV class model to be launched in the international market, based on the production version of Skoda’s VisionS Concept. The VisionS Concept was first showcased at the 2016 Geneva MotorShow by Skoda. The final production model has remained fairly unchanged from the concept with the Kodiaq being offered in both a 5-seater and 7-seater options.
The Skoda Kodiaq will be based on the MQB Platform of the Volkswagen Group. The new car will come in the similar TSI and TDI versions for the petrol and diesel variants respectively. The petrol engine will produce between 125HP to 175HP power output, while the diesel engine will produce between 150HP to 190HP power output. Transmission choices for the Kodiaq will be the 6-speed manual gearbox and the DSG dual-clutch automatic.
The Skoda Kodiaq will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show to be held in September, while the pre-orders for the vehicle in Europe might start by the end of 2016. In India though, expect the Kodiaq to reach Indian dealerships by possibly second half of 2017.
