The all new 2016 Hyundai Tucson is all set to be launched in India around the month of October, likely to be priced between Rs. 25 – 30 Lakhs.
Hyundai India has reportedly announced that the all-new third generation Hyundai Tucson will be launched around the month of October. There are also different reports suggesting that the Korean car maker will price the SUV between Rs. 25 – 30 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The SUV is placed between the Hyundai Creta of the Compact SUV segment and Hyundai SantaFe of the Premium SUV segment. The SUV had its first Indian Debut at the 2016 Auto Expo.
Hyundai India seems to be on a roll in terms of car launches in the Indian market, with the launch of its Elantra sedan taking place just a couple of days back. Hyundai also has plans to get their i20 automatic transmission launched soon.
The Tuscon SUV will be based on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 philosophy, the 2016 Tucson will get the signature hexagonal shaped grille with twin LED headlamps and DRLs. The rear receives LED tail lights, similar to the ones on the i20 Elite. On the inside, the upcoming Tucson receives a leather wrapped instrument panel, five-inch touchscreen with LCD colour display and rear view camera along with a panoramic sunroof.
The engine for the Tucson will be the 2.0-litre CRDi unit for the Diesel variant imported directly from Korea giving out two power output options of 136 PS and 184 PS, while the petrol variant will get the similar 2.0-litre MPi four cylinder engine as on the Elantra, producing 152 PS of power output at 195 Nm of torque. Both engines of the SUV will come mated either a 6-speed manual transmission or the 6-speed CVT gearbox. The AWD option might be available only with the top-end version.
Once launched the 2016 Hyundai Tucson will take on competition from the likes of the Honda CR-V, the Ssangyong Rexton, Skoda Yeti and the Isuzu MU-7.
