Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro set to roll on the Indian roads powered by a 160 BHP engine, designed in accordance with EURO-IV standards.
Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro is the third instalment into the Multistrada lineup. The same is available in Ducati dealerships in Delhi, Pune, Mumbai and Bengaluru at Rs. 17.44 lakhs. From the looks of it, the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro is a cross between an off-roader and a tourer. In fact, this is Ducati’s first venture into the off-roader segment.
Riding on the Testastretta 1.1-litre engine, it develops 160 BHP of power and 136 Nm of torque. This power is parted to the wheels by a 6-speed gearbox. To make the off-road ride easy going, the Enduro has incorporated Ducati Skyhook Suspension with a double-sided swingarm.
Ducati’s attention to details is great as usual, with as much as 60 parts being completely redesigned. 19″ front wheels and 17″ wheels at the rear, ensures a consistent ride quality. It has a whopping 30-litre fuel tank to go the distance. Also, spacious bags on the sides and rear mean that the supplies never run out throughout the adventure.
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro has a lot in store with its frontline gizmo and technology. An interactive 5” TFT information panel displays the current riding mode. It comes with 4 optimised riding modes- Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro. Each of these modes auto-adjust ABS, Traction Control, suspension, and braking to suit the ride mode selected. The headlamps have been completely morphed into LED panels. The Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL) system ensures a wide spray of light beam depending on the bike’s tilt.
Safety has been prioritised with a lot going into keeping the bike’s stability in extreme conditions. Cornering safety is governed by the ABS system. DucatiTractionControl monitors the rear wheel slips. Cruise Control, Hands-Free ignition and back-lit handlebar are among other safety features included, apart from ensuring a smooth ride.
Given the fine work going into its development, the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro looks like it’s worth every buck spent. That said, it will be engaging to see how the Ducati’s foray into a relatively fresh market works out.
