The production version of the TVS Akula 310 has been spied testing on the Bangalore-Krishnagiri highway.
The TVS Akula 310 Concept which was first showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo and its production version is all set to launch this fiscal. The production version of the bike will be named as the Apache RTR 300. The Akula concept will share the same platform as the BMW Motorrad’s upcoming BMW G310R.

The TVS Akula will be the first bike in the Apache series to come fully faired. It will be based on the same platform co-developed by TVS Motors and BMW Motorrad. The Apache RTR 300 (Akula 300) will get the same 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine mated to a 6-speed transmission. The engine on the BMW G310R produces 34 HP power and 28 Nm of torque.
Some of the key features expected on the TVS Akula includes a tall windshield, upside-down front forks, mono shock rear suspension, front and rear disc brakes with two-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) and fully digital instrument panel, other visual highlights of the Akula 310’s production version would include a twin headlamp setup with LED pilot lamps and a full fairing with ram air induction vents. The production version of the bike though will not get the carbon-fibre body as seen on the concept at the Delhi Auto Expo.
TVS has confirmed that the production will begin early 2017, once the testing is done. The Akula will be TVS’s flagship model on its release. The price for TVS’s flagship Akula will be around Rs. 1.50 – 1.75 Lakhs.
