The Bentley Bentayga Diesel has been seen testing for the very first time. This is Bentley’s first diesel engine.
We knew that the Bentley Bentayga Diesel would be coming soon. It has now been seen testing for the first time. This is the first diesel vehicle being built by the British car manufacturing company.
The engine is a 4.0-litre V8 taken from the Audi SQ7. The Audi engine, produces 429 bhp and 900 Nm of torque however the power output is likely to be increased for the Bentley to justify its higher price tag. It will continue to be based on the current Bentayga SUV, which means that it will retain all the luxury elements. It will still be one of the most luxurious SUVs available. The Bentley Bentayga Diesel will compete with the Porsche Cayenne diesel SUV and the Range Rover diesel.
More information on the SUV is likely to be revealed soon, mostly during the upcoming Paris Motor Show.
Based on the Volkswagen Group’s MLB platform, the current SUV is the world’s most powerful, fastest and the most expensive SUV ever built. It is powered by a 6.0-litre W12 twin turbo engine producing 600 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to all four wheels and the SUV accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 301 kmph.
Bentley is also planning to introduce a V8 engine and a V8 plug-in hybrid variant, along with the V8 diesel and the W12 variants.
