The Ferrari 812 Superfast has been revealed at the Geneva Motor Show 2017.
Ferrari have just revealed their latest vehicle at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the Ferrari 812 Superfast. The car was unveiled by their Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Mr. Enrico Galliera on the 7th March 2017.
Ferrari had revealed the 812 Superfast, a replacement to the F12 Berlinetta a couple of weeks prior, but it was the first time for It to be officially showcased to the public. The Ferrari 812 Superfast will have a larger and a much more powerful V12 producing 789 BHP and 718 Nm of torque from its 6.5-litre naturally aspirated engine.
Mr. Enrico Galleria says “75% of the components of the engine is completely new, which is what helps the 812 Superfast stand out and produce stellar performance which I can assure is most powerful V12 engine in the world.”.
This new engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch engine sending the power from the engine at the front to the rear wheels. To control all the power being produced, Ferrari have added Electronic Steering system on the 812 Superfast making it the first Ferrari to get this feature. It also has Ferrari’s second generation Virtual Short Wheelbase which sharpens handling improving the response times of the steering wheel.
The exterior of the Ferrari 812 Superfast has been made more aggressive than its predecessors with active aerodynamic flaps on the underside of the car along with rear flaps. Galleria said “We don’t like putting large wings on our car, we want to create downforce the Ferrari way; the difficult way, so the way Ferrari does it becomes a technological and design challenge as they increase the downforce of the car by working around the body of the car without putting additional wings”.
The car comes with completely new interiors, along with a new colour called the “Rosso Settantani” to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Ferrari brand.
