Launched at the Geneva Motor Show, the new Porsche 911 GT3 gets a manual gearbox
Powered by a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine, the new Porsche 911 GT3 gets the option of a 7-speed dual clutch PDK automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission. The outgoing GT3 gets only the PDK gearbox. This is a triumph for the dying manual gearbox.
The engine produces 500 hp of power and 460 Nm of torque. With the PDK automatic gearbox, the GT3 hits a 100 kmph from a standstill in 3.3 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 317 kmph. With the manual gearbox, the GT3 achieves the same feat in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 318 kmph.
To improve handling, the car gets dynamic engine mounts, rear locking differential and rear axle steering. The front spoiler, rear wing and diffuser have been designed for better aerodynamic performance.
On the inside, it gets a GT Sport steering wheel and three seat options. The Porsche Track Precision App comes as standard.
The new Porsche 911 GT3 was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Deliveries are scheduled to start later this year.
