The convertible version of the Lamborghini Aventador S has been revealed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
We knew it was coming. The Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster makes its way to this year’s edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show. The supercar retains the design of the coupe version. However, it gets a different engine cover, which comes with an optional transparent cover, and a removable hardtop roof panels. Made of carbon fibre, the roof panels can be removed and stored in the front trunk. An electrically operated rear window optimizes the noise and airflow.
There is no difference in the power output as well. The Roadster is powered by a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 740 hp and 690 Nm of torque. It is paired to a 7-speed transmission and power is sent to all four wheels. The supercar accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 3.0 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 350 kph, which is the same as the coupe.
The convertible gets the new active suspension, new four-wheel driving system, and four driving modes, including the new EGO, from the coupe. It also gets the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS), Lamborghini Magneto-rheological Suspension (LMS), an active rear wing, standard carbon ceramic brakes and Pirelli P Zero tires. The ESC system has been optimized for better control of the traction control and vehicle dynamics.
Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program allows extensive customization of the car. Internal and external packages called ‘branding’ and ‘carbon fiber’ are available.
The new Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster starts at £251,462. Deliveries will start in February 2018.
