Called the TVR Griffith, the much-awaited sports car made its global debut at the Goodwood Revival
Marking the beginning of an all-new era, TVR has launched an all-new sports car at the 2017 Goodwood Revival. The TVR Griffith is the first car to be launched after the brand came back from the dead.
Designed by Gordon Murray Design Limited, the new car has a classic sports car silhouette and is aerodynamically efficient to generate high downforce and cooling.
With a carbon fibre chassis and body panels, the new sports car weighs just 1,250 kgs and has a 50:50 weight distribution. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre Cosworth V8 engine producing around 500hp, which is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. With a power to weight ratio of 400hp per tonne, the car accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kph (62 mph) in less than four seconds and goes on to a top speed of more than 320 kph (200 mph).
The Launch Edition cars come with a full leather interior, custom alloy wheels, more paint options and a bespoke infotainment system. Prices start from £90,000 and production will begin in late 2018.
