The fifth model in Bentley’s line-up will be an electric sports car. It will be the company’s first all-electric car.
Bentley has confirmed that the next model in their line-up will be an electric sports car. It has been given the green light over plans of a small SUV that would sit below the Bentayga. The sports car would be their first all-electric model. Bentley feels that an electric luxury car would fit in it’s core values. With a lot of torque low down in the rev range and almost perfect silence, it ticks all the right boxes for a luxury car and a sports car.
At the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the Crewe-based manufacturer showed us the EXP12 Speed 6e concept. While this convertible concept is not expected to make it to the production stage, it is the first glimpse of an all-electric car from the company.
The production version is expected to be slightly bigger than the EXP12 Speed 6e concept and will share its platform with the upcoming production version of the Porsche Mission E, which is expected to be an all-electric sports car.
The British manufacturer’s first electric car is expected to get two electric motors offering four-wheel drive and a range of around 483 kms (300 miles).
The Bentley line-up currently has four cars. These are the Continental GT, Flying Spur, Mulsanne and the Bentayga.
