BMW has shown us two new concepts at the 2017 Frankfurt International Motor Show. These are the Concept X7 iPerformance and the i Vision Dynamics.
Lately, BMW has been showing off a lot of concept cars that are expected to go into production soon. At the ongoing 2017 IAA in Frankfurt, they have many concept cars on display. Two of these concepts made their global debut at the show. These are the BMW X7 iPerformance and the BMW i Vision Dynamics.
BMW X7 iPerformance
This concept previews an all-new SUV from BMW that is expected to make it to production in 2018. The model, that will be called the X7, will sit above the current X5. It will allow BMW to compete with the likes of the Range Rover in the luxury SUV segment. As of now, the X5 is the biggest SUV the German manufacturer sells.
The X7 trumps the X5 in size and luxury. The insides come with matt and brushed aluminium finishes. Warm colours and high-quality materials have been used. A panoramic roof makes the cabin airy. The size of the SUV has also allowed the addition of a third row. The concept comes with six seats, but you can expect the production car to have seven seats.
The centre console and dashboard adopt a minimalistic approach with very few buttons. The passengers get a personalized infotainment system that lets them access the internet and transfer documents and files from one passenger to another. An address in an email can be sent to the navigation system. The personalized infotainment system can be controlled via gesture control.
Powering the SUV will be a hybrid powertrain with a TwinTurbo petrol engine.
